About us

Four decades of engineering leadership

Since 1983, Groupe Sotramon has delivered structural steelwork, lagging and cladding, boiler erection, piping, tank installation, crane services, and maintenance — across projects of every scale.

No project is too large or too small for our team. We focus on quality service, disciplined schedule management, and reliable delivery — meeting the deadlines our clients depend on.

This service-oriented approach allows Groupe Sotramon to anticipate industry needs and innovate with confidence. A sustained investment in training strengthens our capabilities and the quality of what we deliver.

Chairman's welcome

Dear partners

Our success has been built on hard work, continuous development, and a steadfast focus on our clients' needs.

The company was founded in 1983 with around twelve employees, beginning as a small contracting firm in mechanical and structural engineering for the Mauritian market.

Our initial focus was the sugar sector, where specialist engineering support was in short supply. Through rapid response and strong technical capability, we expanded into textiles and petroleum — from pipeline work to full plant erection in the years that followed. We also established the country's first dredging company as tourism developed in Mauritius.

Guided by core values of continuous learning and solution-driven engineering, we have grown and diversified across the Indian Ocean region and into Africa. Today we are a leading contractor in the sugar and thermal sectors, with subsidiaries active in petroleum, commercial trading, and investment — and a crane hire fleet that includes the region's largest mobile crawler crane at 300 tonnes.

We look forward to continuing this journey with you.
